His Excellency Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi was appointed UAE Minister of Education on July 4, 2014. His Excellency concurrently holds several other positions in the field of education. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, Chairman of the Higher Committee of Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Program, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abu Dhabi Institute of Vocational Education and Training (ADVETI), Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Institute of Applied Technology (IAT), Member of the Board of Directors at Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research, and Member of the Board of Directors, Khalifa Award for Education.
His Excellency Al Hammadi received a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry-Riddle University in the United States. Throughout his career, HE has acquired diverse specialized expertise, which has enabled him to efficiently manage and execute his various responsibilities. His initiatives have had a great impact on achieving paramount advancements in education, technical and vocational training, and strengthening the connection of this kind of specialized education to the developmental needs of the UAE and the country’s future aspirations, laying the corner stone for the empowerment of the Emirati workforce.
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi was appointed UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development in October 2017. As Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, Al Kaabi is responsible for the promotion of UAE-based cultural initiatives on both national and international level. In her capacity as Minister, she is responsible for developing policies and legislations that support cultural activities in the UAE and to nurture young creative talent within the community. Previously, she has held the post of Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs.
In addition to her ministerial responsibilities, Al Kaabi is also President of Zayed University, Chairperson of Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority and Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. She also sits on the board of Abu Dhabi Media.
Al Kaabi is the first Emirati to be ranked in Foreign Policy magazine’s ‘Top 100 Global Thinkers List’. In 2014, she was named Forbes Middle East’s 30 Most Influential Women in Government. Her role in growing the UAE’s media industry was recognised by America Abroad Media in 2015 and she was named as one of 20 Most Powerful Women in global television by The Hollywood Reporter in 2016. She has been a Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum since 2014.
Al Kaabi received her high school education in Abu Dhabi and Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Systems from UAE University in Al Ain, and also completed an Executive Leadership Programme at the London Business School in 2011.
Her Excellency Jameela Al Muhairi is currently the Minister of State for General Education, the first woman appointed to this position. Before becoming Minister of State, H.E. Al Muhairi helped develop a region-first Quality Assurance System for schools in her role as Chief of the Dubai School Inspection Bureau at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai. As an Executive Director in Dubai Education Council and through key positions in Knowledge Village and the Ministry of Education, she has also been involved in improving private education in the Emirate. H.E. Al Muhairi is a board member of Dubai Cares Foundation, a philanthropic organization working to improve children's access to quality primary education in developing countries.
H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, a member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, is Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism, which oversees the conservation and promotion of Abu Dhabi's heritage and culture, and leverages these to develop distinctive Abu Dhabi experiences designed to enrich the lives of visitors and residents alike.
H.E. Al Mubarak is also the Chairman of twofour54, the media zone company that ensures the growth and sustainability of the region’s media industry. In 2016, he was appointed Chairman of the Tourism Development ans Investment Company (TDIC), the master developer of major tourism, cultural and residential projects in Abu Dhabi. He is also Chairman of Miral Asset Management, an organization responsible for creating and managing projects in Abu Dhabi, and the Chairman of Aldar Properties.
In addition, H.E. Al Mubarak is the Chairman of both Aldar Academies and Image Nation Abu Dhabi.
He is a graduate of Northeastern University in Massachusetts and holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science.
Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), is responsible for a wide spectrum of education in Dubai’s private sector, spanning early learning, grade school, higher education and training institutes.
Dr. Abdulla has the distinction of holding key positions across the United Arab Emirates. He is chairman of the Dubai Future Education Council, a member of the International Positive Education Network advisory board and an Education Committee member of the Global Council for Happiness and Wellbeing. Dr. Abdulla is a member of the UAE University council and serves on the board of trustees for Dubai Future Foundation and Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences. He is a board member of Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Cares, and a member of the Higher Committee for Protection of the Rights of People of Determination in Dubai.
Previously, Dr. Abdulla held positions including Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Academic Performance, Chairman of Dubai Government’s Human Resources Committee, which was links human resources programs and initiatives with Dubai’s goals and strategic priorities, and board member of Dubai Knowledge Fund, which develops Dubai’s knowledge capital through profitably managing funds. In 2019, he was a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Education.
Prior to the formation of KHDA, Dr. Abdulla was CEO of Dubai Knowledge Village, which ushered in the International Branch Campus to diversify the educational landscape in Dubai. Before that, Dr. Abdulla headed the Research Unit at Dubai Internet City and began his career working as a software engineer in the United States and France.
Dr. Abdulla holds a PhD in computer engineering from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Saeed Musbah Al Kaabi holds a PhD in educational leadership and has been the Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council since 2014. Over his career in education, he progressed from teacher to school principal before serving as Chairman of the Sharjah Education Zone and Chairman of the Teachers’ Association in Sharjah.
Dr. Saeed’s wide-ranging expertise includes work as a presenter on Sharjah TV and involvement in several sports councils and associations. He was Chairman of Al-Madam Cultural and Sports Club, and is currently Vice Chairman of the UAE Shooting and Archery Association as well as a candidate for Chair of the Archery Association.
Dr. Saeed was selected to chair the Advisory Board of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Sharjah in 2017, and recently joined the Permanent Committee for the Care of Children Deprived from Social Care.
Mohamed Al Neaimi is Director of the Education Affairs Office at the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi. The Office operates ongoing educational initiatives launched under the patronage of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, including the introduction of Moral Education in UAE schools, the Youth Ambassador program, and the Mohamed Bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations.
Mohamed began his career with the Abu Dhabi Investment Council as an investment analyst, and then worked in Abu Dhabi Media and the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi. Mohamed is a member of the Board of Trustees of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and the head of its Audit Committee, and a board member of Abu Dhabi Media Company and of its subsidiary, United Printing Press.
Mohamed completed his postgraduate studies with a Master's degree in Professional Finance and Banking from Edith Cowan University, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Western Australia.
